New Delhi World Book Fair 2023 to Commence its Celebration on 25th Februar

A significant event on the publishing calendar is the 31st New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF), which has been held annually for the past 50 years. NDWBF 2023 will take place in the recently built Halls 2-5 GF in the conveniently placed Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from February 25 to March 5, 2023. France will be the guest of honor at the 31st New Delhi World Book Fair.

The India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) and the National Book Trust, an independent government agency under the Ministry of Education, together organize the fair. The publishing industry in India is currently situated at a major fork in the road that will determine its future. The NDWBF provides exhibitors with a special chance to do business in the expanding book sector.

Additionally, it is the best place for trade, co-publication agreements, and title promotion. In addition to the numerous literary and publishing seminars and programs held during the Fair, it also provides access to the South Asian publishing and intellectual communities.

Major publishing houses from all over the world attend the fair. In 2021, the fair was conducted virtually, with more than 2.8 million visitors from 70 different countries, 150 Indian exhibitors, and roughly 15 foreign exhibitors using the platform.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a government of India program to celebrate and remember 75 years of progressive India and the wonderful history of its people, culture, and accomplishments as the country mark its 75th anniversary of independence.

This Mahotsav is held in honor of the Indian people and represents everything progressive about the country's sociocultural, political, and economic identity. The NDWBF 2023 has chosen Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav as its theme, and there will be a lot of literary and cultural activities focused on the theme during the fair, in addition to different festivities marking the Festival around the nation.

A specifically created Children's Pavilion will host a variety of events that promote children's literature and the habit of reading, including skits, plays, street plays, musical performances, storytelling sessions, seminars, panel debates, etc.

Teachers and students from numerous public and private schools, non-governmental organizations, and those involved in the promotion of children's literature or reading actively participate in these activities, which are organized by renowned authors and illustrators as well as experts from the education and publishing fields.

Authors' Corners that have been built and placed throughout the Fair's halls offer the ideal setting for discussions, roundtable discussions, and book launches with local publishers, authors, and book enthusiasts. These Corners, aptly titled Reflections & Conversations, Lekhak Manch, and Sahitya Manch, have come to be associated with vibrant literary activities and act as gathering places for tourists.
